The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine (S63 B44T4) in BMW M models features an indirect charge air cooling system. Therefore, the charge air is cooled by a water-cooled intercooler, which will be replaced by this high-performance WagnerTuning intercooler.
The WAGNERTUNING high-performance intercooler features a new performance core with external dimensions of 192 mm x 156 mm x 128 mm / 8.23 inches x 6.89 inches x 4.33 inches. This intercooler core was developed specifically for the demanding requirements of the BMW M5/M8 engine and offers 75% more external core volume compared to the original intercooler. The calculated ratio between the internal and external cooling surface area generates maximum heat transfer while simultaneously optimizing internal airflow. The cast aluminum end tanks were designed using CAD and optimized through CFD simulations. The result is excellent cooling properties with minimal back pressure. This makes this kit ideal for racing applications. Optimal cooling of the charged air with a significant performance increase!
All WAGNERTUNING radiators are equipped with a thermally conductive, corrosion-resistant coating to ensure long-lasting cooling. The system's plug-and-play installation is simple and easy to perform (installation instructions are also included).
